Effective at 10:23 a.m. on Wednesday, July 29, 2009, Hamilton Township Mayor John Bencivengo rescinded the limited disaster declaration that was made in response to the storm system that impacted sections of Hamilton Township, which began on Sunday evening.

I remember just getting home in my driveway and the storm coming from out of nowhere. I could not exit my vehicle. it was awful, debris was hitting the car at such a force and the car was moving. I thought I was a goner. I could do nothing but wait it out. I was even debating calling 911, because literally I was a sitting duck.

Our house in Yardville got hit with a large township tree. Still cleaning up the debris. Glad that nobody got hurt. It was horrible. Good luck to all who have been affected. It takes alot of time and effort to clean up the mess. Any volunteers can just ask to help those in need.

i live in yardville and it was the craziest storm ive ever seen! i videotaped it from my porch still cant get over the damage. trees down etc here. God bless all

We live iin Hamilton but didn't get anything like THIS. The picture of the tree through the car is just devastating. In fact, all of these pictures are just horrible, what a horrible horrible storm. God bless you all, your families and may you sort out the property damage & insurance issues as swiftly as possible.

Our above ground pool is totally destroyed. Kaput. Finite. We had two fairly mature trees come crashing down and it just destroyed our pool. So sad. Dealing with the insurance company now and it's such a pain in the you know what but I'm sure it will work out over time. Does anyone know yet if a tornado touched down becuase it surely seemed like it.

We had a large branch break off of a swamp maple in our backyard, the same tree that we had pruned a week ago. I called my insurance company yesterday and an adjuster called me this morning. Since the tree didn’t hit or damage anything else, the damage to it isn’t covered! This would have been the first claim I’ve ever made and it isn’t covered!

It was a wicked storm, I honestly thought a tornado was going through our neighborhood. We're in Yardville and there are trees down everywhere. A mature tree came down on our property, missed our neighbors house by just a few feet. Very scary.
