  • In her blog, Ilene writes about the ordinary, everyday life of a suburban family. Regularly featured in the blog are her long-suffering husband, two wacky sons, and their maniacal and hyperactive Yorkie named Mojo. Life is anything but routine in the Black household. Read more about their adventures and mishaps and laugh along with them as they navigate through life with a sense of humor and a knack for collective insanity. Who knows? Maybe you’ll recognize yourself and your family in this blog!

  • The title of this column isn’t a reference to fractal geometry or some similar subject; it comes from a reality show a few years back, wherein a love-struck, socially inept M.I.T. grad professed to a particularly vapid model, “The complexity of your simplicity is what fascinates me about you.” I thought that was pretty funny at the time, and it also seems as appropriate a title as any for a column that promises to analyze the simple things, and hopefully entertain along the way.

  • Norma Jean DeVico is writing a column about getting in shape after recovering from cancer treatment. Devico lives in Titusville.

  • In his new, regularly updated blog, editor Joe Emanski writes about popular culture, unpopular culture and local issues.

  • One of the unique aspects of sports is that people always look for the next best thing. You know, the next Michael Jordan, the next Tiger Woods, the next Mia Hamm. What makes Mercer County scholastic sports so intense and special is people don't get ahead of themselves. They draw battle lines. County titles matter. Township bragging rights mean even more (you know who you are, Hamilton Township). The athletes learn they can't get to tomorrow without focusing on today. This blog is designed to show you their efforts and will put you in the huddles across Mercer County. By the way, aren't you the next Arielle Collins?

  • Can you ever really go home again? Tom Julian’s answer is YES! After eight years of living in New York City, Tom is back in Hamilton Square, the town he grew up in. Here are the unmundane adventures of a young family who along with his wife Brenda experience the trials and tribulations of suburbia. Tom’s the guy just over the picket fence waving back at you. Who knew what he was thinking?

  • Diets, health fads, quick fixes: I’m over it. I’ve been there and done them all and I have something to say about it. From the kitchen to the gym, being healthy is all about lifestyle changes and choices, not about how little you eat. With this blog, I’ll dispel common health myths, and write about tips and ideas for exciting and new light recipes and exercises. I’ll be putting everything I write into practice by bringing you along on my own personal journey to get healthy, get in shape and, fingers crossed, lose some weight. Got ideas of your own or want to share your own story, please do. From the epic will power battles to the ever popular and timeless, “ugh, exercise,” it’s time to put those to rest. Goodbye couch, hello world!
