
The Horizon Foundation for New Jersey announced Aug. 8 the Foundation’s second round of grants for 2011, awarding $511,500 to 21 organizations. The Horizon Foundation for New Jersey supports charitable organizations that promote health and the arts throughout New Jersey.
Two of the grants were awarded to local organizations in Mercer County:
McCarter Theatre in Princeton received a grant of $10,000 to support its 2011-2012 Arts Education and Outreach Program that enables children in grades K-12 to experience theatre through after-school classes, student matinees, touring shows, summer camps and in-school residencies.
New Jersey Chamber of Commerce Foundation in Trenton received a grant of $50,000 to support the New Jersey Action Coalition for the Future of Nursing. The grant supports Coalition activities to improve both the state’s nursing education system and the data collection and information infrastructure and funds meetings, forums, research and evaluation, the production of a white paper and communication.
