Senator Linda Greenstein and Assemblymen Wayne DeAngelo and Dan Benson thanked teachers from throughout the 14th Legislative District Aug. 15 for their endorsement.
Announced recently by the NJEA, the endorsement is based upon the recommendation from local teachers.
“I am proud that our teachers continue to place their trust in this team, and we pledge to continue working tirelessly on behalf of the dedicated men and women who make our public schools the state’s best,” said Greenstein. “We will not let the governor and his allies continue to cut from our schools. That’s not fair to students or property taxpayers. Ensuring that our public schools and teachers have the resources they need and the respect they deserve is a vital concern.”
Greenstein, DeAngelo and Benson all supported a Democratic budget that would have fully funded local schools according to the state’s constitutional funding law, providing more than $146.5 million to local communities. However, the governor vetoed that plan, leaving schools underfunded.
