Community Connection of Princeton HealthCare features watercolor artist Ruth Ann Kaufman

Community Connection of Princeton HealthCare (formerly The Auxiliary) cordially invites the public to an art show and sale featuring the works of Ruth Ann Kaufman. The exhibit is free and open to the public and runs from Sept. 15 to Nov. 15 at University Medical Center at Princeton (UMCP), 253 Witherspoon Street, Princeton. An opening night reception will take place on Thursday, Sept, 15, from 5 to 7:00 p.m. in the dining room of UMCP and will include hors d’oeuvres and refreshments. A portion of the proceeds from the art sale will benefit the Art for Healing program at UMCP. For more information, call (609) 497-4192.

Kaufman primarily works in watercolors and is inspired by nature, animals and color. She served as President of the Garden State Watercolor Society from 2008 through 2010.

Kaufman has won awards and has been accepted into many local juried shows. One of her paintings is in the collection of the Mercer County Cultural and Heritage Commission.

Kaufman has exhibited at annual Garden State Watercolor Society Associate and open juried shows as well as at Artworks, 1860 House, Terhune Orchards, Hopewell Frame Shop, the Gourgaud Gallery in Cranbury, Washington Crossing Visitors Center, Artsbridge Gallery in Lambertville, Canal Craft-Frame Shop in Washington Crossing, Pa., (where her painting got an honorable mention award in 2004), Historic Wetherill site in Dayton and Orpha’s Coffee Shop in Skillman. She has attended painting and pottery classes at Pennsylvania State University (where she majored in biology) and has taken many watercolor classes and workshops in the Princeton/Trenton area.

Kaufman lives with her husband Douglas in the historic village of Kingston.
