Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Hamilton named three prominent community members to Board leadership positions on July 7, 2011.

J. Lynne Cannon was appointed chair of the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Hamilton Board of Directors, becoming the first woman to hold the position.

A resident of Princeton, Cannon has been a member of the RWJ Hamilton Board of Directors for more than 16 years, having served most recently as vice chair for four years.

Currently president of the Princeton Management Development Institute, a firm serving biotechnology and pharmaceutical businesses, Cannon has more than 30 years of diverse corporate and consulting experience in areas such as global strategic business and human resources management, organizational development and restructuring, executive search and selection and leadership development.

Joining Cannon, Sherise D. The RWJ Hamilton Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) that exists to raise funds in support of RWJ Hamilton and The Cancer Institute of New Jersey Hamilton.

A resident of Upper Freehold Township, Ritter has been involved with RWJ Hamilton for the past five years, most recently serving as vice chairman of the Board. She is also a member of RWJ Hamilton’s Board of Directors.

A managing director of the Mercadien Group and a principal of Mercadien, P.C., CPAs, Ritter chairs the firm’s Nonprofit Services Group, has a broad base of tax, accounting and advisory experience, including expertise in the performance of audits, reviews, and compilations of nonprofit organizations, and other entities. In addition, Phillip S. Miller Jr. has been appointed chairman of the Lakeview Child Center Board of Trustees.

A resident of Hamilton Township, Miller is currently Executive Director of Mercer County Improvement Authority. The Authority undertakes certain projects for the benefit of the residents of Mercer County. Miller is responsible for all programs and services that are available to assist the County, municipalities, school and fire districts, and not-for-profits in the areas of financing, project management, redevelopment, solid waste and recycling.

Hope these new appointees will do a better job of holding John Marcy accountable than "his" foundation board at TCNJ did. He managed to pull the wool over their eyes for five years, making barely noticeable gains overall. He always pointed to the "average gift" size as an indicator of progress, rather than the median gift...which moved downward.
But thanks to a few large gifts that he had little to do with, the average was skewed up, while in truth the trend was down.
Peter Principle rules, as RWJ will soon learn, the hard way.
