
Hopewell's school budget passed a voter referendum yesterday, with 58 percent of residents voting in favor of the budget. Voters also picked three new school board members.
Last year's budget was shot down by voters, and went to the local governing bodies for further cuts.
Adam J. Sawicki, Laura Desai and Roy Dollard won school board seats, defeating Burton Sutker and Jill Vaughn. Sawicki had 1,289 votes, Desai had 1,079, Dollard had 1,009, Vaughn had 746 and Sutker had 592.
