The girls who completed the program represent grades 3 through 10, three Girl Scout councils, and nine troops: (Front row) Emma Fernandez of Titusville, Adelaide Groth-Tuft of Lambertville, Allison Cohen of Washington Crossing, Claire O’Hearn of Yardley, Stormi Mullins of Newtown, (back row) Casey Quinto of Pennington, Sydney Osler of Doylestown, Morgan Tallo of Hopewell Township, Keziah Groth-Tuft of Lambertville, and Alex Dovgala-Carr of Ewing. Charlie Groth, of Lambertville (far left), and Sarah Burke, of Ewing (far right) served as advisors.

Ten local girls have completed the Religion in Life program at the Unitarian Universalist Church at Washington Crossing. Religion in Life, the Unitarian Universalist Association’s religious award program designed for Girl Scouts but open to all girls, has more than 40 requirements involving religious study, service, and self-exploration. The girls’ activities included learning about religious diversity by visiting Masjidut-Taqwa, a mosque in Trenton; conducting an accessibility survey of the UUCWC building; and hearing of the Depression-era Girl Scout experiences of Newtown resident Ruth Samsel.

Unitarian Universalist Church at Washington Crossing serves western Mercer County and surrounding communities in Hunterdon and Bucks Counties. UUCWC is located at 268 Washington Crossing-Pennington Road in Titusville, N.J. For more information about UUCWC, please visit www.uucwc.org or call (609) 737-0515.
