A two-phased storm dumped 18 inches of wet, heavy snow on Hamilton, causing brief power outages in parts of the township and shutting down all but the most necessary of services Feb. 10 and Feb. 11. Schools and township offices were closed for both days.

Even Snow Plow Sal, the township's new snowplow-tracking system, felt the effects. A power outage knocked the system offline during the night, according to a notice the township's Web site. It has since been restored.

Major roadways have been plowed, but the notice said residents should expect cleanup from the storm to take twice as long as normal due to the weight of the snow. Crews started working on secondary streets by the morning of Feb. 11.
