The Pennington Day Board gave a $5,000 grant to the Hopewell Valley YMCA capital building fund on Dec. 5 after inviting representatives from the YMCA to present an update on the YMCA’s plans and activities-to-date involving their contract to purchase a 13-acre tract of land from Capital Health on Route 31.
The YMCA announced the selection of its design firm, Clarke Caton Hintz and construction management firm, Epic Management, Inc. The YMCA has established an advisory committee to provide local guidance to its volunteer Board of Trustees in pursuing the development of a full-service facility in Pennington.
Pennington Day is an annual event held each May, providing family-centered fun and activities for Hopewell Valley. The organization raises funding for local organizations and projects and is the first organization to step forward and support the development of the YMCA.
