
Six candidates are seeking three seats on the Mercer County Board of Chosen Freeholders.
Democrat Ann M. Cannon, of East Windsor, has been a freeholder since 1995 and served as its president between 1998 and 2005. Before that, she was a member of East Windsor Council.
Cannon works in sales at JCPenney at the Quakerbridge Mall in Lawrenceville.
Republican Cindy Randazzo is married to James Randazzo and lives in Princeton.
Randazzo, a businesswoman and mother of two, is a member of the Newcomers of Princeton, the Princeton High School PTO, the Princeton Education Foundation, the Republican Association of Princeton and Greater Mercer Ride Provide.
Pasquale “Pat” Colavita, Jr., a Democrat, lives in Lawrenceville with wife Marianne. They have two children.
Colavita is a retired speech and language therapist with a bachelor’s degree from St. John’s University and a master’s from Trenton State College.
Colavita was the freeholder board president in 2007. He also served as the mayor and vice mayor of Lawrence Township between 1996 and 1999, and was the vice president and public relations chair for the Lawrence Township Board of Education between 1984 and 1993. Colavita has served on the board of the Ewing-Lawrence Sewer Authority since 2002.
Shirley Guerieri, a Republican, lives in Hamilton.
Guerieri is retired after more than 39 years of working for the state, most recently as a senior buyer for the state Department of Transportation. She administered pay-to-play ordinances for compliance with public law requirements.
Guerieri previously ran unsuccessfully for freeholder. She also serves on the Hamilton Township Republican Committee.
Democrat Dan Benson lives in Hamilton Township with his wife, Dr. Hande Benson.
Benson is a consultant in the energy and telecommunications policy field.
Benson was appointed to the Board of Chosen Freeholders in 2008 to fill an unexpired term and won a special election to fill the seat that year.
Benson was previously a Hamilton Township councilman.
Republican Russell Wojtenko, Jr., lives in Princeton Junction with his wife Helen and three young children.
Wotjenko is a trial attorney who runs a law firm in North Brunswick.
Wotjenko was a municipal prosecutor in West Windsor, Ewing and Linden.
He is the vice chairman for the board of trustees of the Ann Klein Forensic Center in West Trenton, a state psychiatric hospital treating mentally ill patients who are also in the legal system.
