Bargain hunters will line up for the thrift sale at Princeton United Methodist Church on Thursday, November 12, from 5 to 8 p.m. The sale continues on Friday, November 13, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Bag Day, when a bag full of items costs only $3, is Saturday, November 14, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The church is located at Nassau Street and Vandeventer Avenue.
“Our thrift sale is the place to go for bargains,” says Yardley resident Pam Barnes, chairman of the sale. “We have great deals on countless items.” Sale items include gently used clothing, housewares, books, toys, small furnishings, CDs, DVDs, and more.
College students with a photo ID pay half-price on Thursday and Friday; on Saturday they pay $1 for bags. All proceeds go toward such charities as the Trenton Soup Kitchen, Woman space, and Crisis Ministry.
The United Methodist Women have had a thrift sale since the 1930s. Many buyers ship clothing and linens overseas to such countries as Haiti, Yugoslavia, New Zealand, and several South American countries.
