Grounds For Sculpture is proud to present its first ever faculty art exhibition, “The Art of Teaching” on exhibit from September 29 through November 28, 2009 in the Education Gallery of the Seward Johnson Center for the Arts. Join us in celebrating the talents of the faculty of Grounds For Sculpture, all of whom have instructed classes offered over the past year or more and used their exemplary skill and focused instruction to make workshops at Grounds For Sculpture a one-of-a-kind experience.

In “The Art of Teaching,” various artistic mediums will be on view from approximately 12 artists displaying a distinct and diverse perspective, including sculpture, painting, photography, mixed-media and found-object art. All artists featured in the 2009 Grounds For Sculpture Faculty Art Exhibition have taught at Grounds For Sculpture, offering classes in Photography, Stone Carving, Ceramics and Mixed Media, in addition to specialized classes in Garden Art, Plaster Casting and many more.

This is the second exhibition to use Grounds For Sculpture’s newly developed Education Gallery as a community exhibition space. In addition to the 10th annual Focus on Sculpture photography exhibition which opens January 24, 2010 , plans for the future include revolving presentations of Grounds For Sculpture members’ artwork, workshop participant displays, and exhibitions exemplifying the spirit of our community.

Grounds For Sculpture is situated in Hamilton, New Jersey, midway between Philadelphia and New York in the heart of central New Jersey. The whimsical thirty-five acre sculpture garden and arboretum is located on the former site of the New Jersey State Fairgrounds and was founded by Seward Johnson to promote an understanding of and appreciation for contemporary sculpture. The park has been enchanting visitors since 1992. Grounds For Sculpture features more than 250 contemporary sculptures, and two 10,000 square foot museum galleries with rotating exhibits. In addition, the park offers workshops for children and adults, concerts, performances, fairs, shopping and modern French cuisine at the Zagat’s-rated Rat’s Restaurant.
